22 May Baby Better Come Back, Maybe Next Week ~ May 23rd -29th, 2016
This week begins still smoldering a little from last weekend’s Full Moon in Sagittarius, which was conjunct Mars and opposed the Sun in Gemini. As such, this Full Moon bore with it a somewhat martial intent, using Gemini’s voracious appetite for new intel to demolish some of your most ignorant assumptions. The mental state you experience in the aftermath will be greatly improved if you can summon enough stoicism to embrace challenges, rather than assume defeat.
Whatever the circumstances, you must learn that no matter how much satisfaction you think you might find through achievement and accomplishment, you will remain tormented by the new desires which are born within you every day. Appeasing your desires is like feeding your hunger or quenching your thirst.
The feeling of satiety is momentary and from it is born the new hungers and new thirsts that will spur you onward in search of satisfaction. The cycle of need and want never ends.
I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
Monday/ Tuesday: Supposed to Drive My Imagination
Mercury has finally stationed direct in Taurus, but its motion will remain quite slow for a few more days. Therefore, do not expect the cognitive shifts of that last three weeks to completely reverse themselves. With this station in Taurus, let the pace of your mind remain slow, knowing that patience is the best quality for any careful observer or astute listener to cultivate.
On Tuesday, May 24th, Venus will leave the sign of her rulership in Taurus and will transition into Gemini. With Venus and Mercury now in mutual reception (Venus in a Mercury ruled sign and Mercury in a Venus ruled sign) your thoughts will feel luxurious and your sense of beauty might rouse you from apathy.
While Venus is in Gemini, there is much more attraction to stimulating conversations fueled by delightful feelings of curiosity. But on Tuesday, there will be an opposition between Venus and Mars retrograde, an aspect that may summon communication styles that resemble commercial advertising, rather than heart-to-heart talks.
When I’m drivin’ in my car
And the man comes on the radio
He’s tellin’ me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to drive my imagination
An opposition between Venus and Mars always denotes some kind of sexual tension, but with retrograde Mars being more passive aggressive, this friction will be best exemplified through the art of hustling. Venus in Gemini is overjoyed by information but weakened by a lack of discernment. Mars retrograde in Sagittarius tends to impose an over-zealous enthusiasm for the thrill of the chase.
Any successful hustle begins by seducing the senses, then darkening your victim’s customer’s optimism about the future, and finally offering the remedy for the throbbing sense of self-doubt that has been inflicted. By following these three steps, you can sell water to a well.
When I’m watchin’ my TV
And a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But he can’t be a man ’cause he doesn’t smoke
The same cigarettes as me
Watch out for similar dynamics in your relationships where doubt is implanted in you before re-assurance. To fortify yourself with wisdom against any mind games you may get ensnared in, remember what Lao Tzu said in the Tao Te Ching.
Wednesday/Thursday: Trying to Make Some Girl
On Thursday, Jupiter and Saturn will form the last of the series of squares that these planets have been intermittently making since Jupiter entered Virgo last summer. Since then, the expansive and benevolent influence of Jupiter has been impeded by Saturn’s limiting forces.

The Rolling Stones, 1963 (left to right, Bill Wyman, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts)
When I’m ridin’ round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signing that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back maybe next week
‘Cause you see I’m on losing streak
Nevertheless, this series of squares may have enabled you to bring some of your gifts into much finer form, as the pressure from Saturn can be quite cathartic. Since late summer, old habits have been dying hard, but during this final square on Thursday, Jupiter will eventually push past Saturn’s restricting force like a weed through concrete.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday: I Can’t Get No. . .
There will be a sharp change in the territory that you are navigating on Friday as Mars retrogrades into the sign of Scorpio. You will feel heightened instincts for uncovering secrets and seek more provocative company at night.
Mars rules Scorpio, but in retrograde this will seem to feel less focused on the conquest of one’s primal desires (sex, drugs, occult knowledge) and more about experiencing the frustration that comes when you realize that these cravings are endless and the wells are bottomless. A newfound taste for blood and a crippling fear of failure will provoke you into more volatile temperaments.
I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no girl reaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
The week concludes its shuffle of two steps forward- three steps back, with Sunday’s waning Moon in Pisces, squaring the Sun in Gemini, and opposing Jupiter in Virgo. The Moon opposite Jupiter will increase your need for comfort, which may be further aggravated by the need to reconcile some new facts that don’t blend well with your current plans for the future.
Better luck next week! 😉
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
