23 Aug Antediluvian Baby ~ Full Moon in Pisces – August 26th, 2018
The continent of Atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
On August 26th, 2018 there will be a Full Moon in the mutable water sign of Pisces.
In Pisces the element of water expands to become oceanic, a swirling abyss of creation and destruction.
Every Full Moon represents the moment when the Sun and the Moon are exactly opposed. Locked in a reflexive gaze, the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces begin to learn from each other.
Virgo’s linguistic and analytical nature becomes deeply inspired by the eternal mystery of Pisces. Thus, Virgo acts as a scribe, translating and recording the transcendent wisdom that ripples through these waters.
Full Moons are culminations of creative and emotional energies, bringing a sense of completion and satisfaction. The Sun’s opposition to the Moon creates an open dialogue between conscious and unconscious, blurring the boundaries blur between waking life and dreams.
This Full Moon in Pisces is also connected to the Grand Earth Trine between the Sun, Saturn and Uranus. The Earth Trine offers much grounding and support for you to rely upon, like a ship setting sail with a reliable map and a solid anchor.
The Moon in Pisces will be making a sextile with Uranus and Saturn, making it the point of catharsis. Thus, the Moon in Pisces will help you to dissolve and release resentments from the past so that much healthier patterns can take shape.
Both Virgo and Pisces are oriented towards purification, so when there is a Full Moon upon this axis you can expect a much needed physical or emotional purge making way for a great renewal of your spirit.
This Full Moon in Pisces will greatly support Virgo’s desire to cleanse mind, body, and spirit. It is the Sun in Virgo’s critical eye that will find all signs of corruption and disease. And it is the Moon in Pisces that will bring a great flood to wash everything away.
All Full Moons represent moments of culmination and release. But this one on August 27th follows the Solar Eclipse in Leo. Thus, you can imagine that there will be a heightened amount of gravitational pull upon the ocean tides of your emotions.
Caught up in a wave of romanticism, you may feel elated by boundless love or cast aside by a riptide of hate. These are waves that can bring you up to the highest highs and down to the lowest lows.
Whatever emotional waters you may find yourself in, know that the purpose of Piscean transits is to bring you towards transcendence, dissolving poisonous attachments and obsessions. This is an ideal time to soften and heal whatever the last three eclipses may have unleashed. Search your soul, letting despair and rage be carried away by the tide.
A Full Moon upon the axis of Virgo and Pisces ripples with sensate intelligence and imagination. Thus, you will be led to contemplate the rhythms of nature’s cycles, the ecology that governs all growth.
At this Full Moon in Pisces, remember that the awe that you have for the ocean as an image of eternity is the same awe that you may have for your own eternal soul and your boundless imagination.
Just as you thirst for water, you also thirst for mystery. Under the Moon in Pisces, you will be awash in mystery, luring you to breathe more deeply and live more fully.
In this Information Age, the farthest corners of the earth have been mapped and the deepest emotions have been reduced to empirical brain chemistry. There is a rational explanation for sexual attraction, notions of god as well as how the human mind works.
As a great testament of these times, physicists now claim to be developing a ‘theory of everything’. To live in a world of facts and definite answers is to live without one of the most essential aspects of life: mystery.
Mystery is what catalyzes wonder and discovery. The philosopher Kierkegaard once said that life is not a problem to be ‘solved’, but is a ‘mystery to be lived’.
The element of mystery summons an appetite for surreality and enchantment. This is the great blessing of this Full Moon in Pisces, offering you a quest into inner space in search of the unknown.
It is in Pisces where the shoreline between worlds can be explored. All the ancient stories that describe journeys into unknown lands are accounts of great explorations into the unconscious mind.
from her western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed
In mythology, there are many magical lands and other worldly places said to lay beyond the mist or beyond the sea. But perhaps none are so well known as the legend of Atlantis, the mythical island described by the Greek philosopher Plato.
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis.
The antediluvian world of Atlantis still resonates strongly in the modern imagination. As something older and wiser than Egypt, Atlantis symbolizes the mysterious origin of ancient wisdom. This story still inspires great waves of romanticism, which is certainly why Donovan wrote a song about Atlantis in the 1960’s. The dream of this lost city is analogous to the dream of living in harmony and love.
Ensconced in the timeless and divine realm of Pisces, you may feel like you remember a utopia from long ago or you may feel like you can imagine one existing in the far future. In Pisces, the fish swirl fact and fiction together, swimming in both directions of time.
…Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new
Hail Atlantis!
In his dialogue, Timaeus, a character named Critias shares an account of Atlantis that he claims has been in his family for generations. The story was originally told to his grandfather by an Egyptian priest.
The great empire of Atlantis was beautiful, blessed with rich soil, magnificent architecture, and astounding technology. In devotion to the gods, Atlantis lived in in harmony and prosperity. On the highest hill they built a temple to Poseidon, the god of the sea.
After many centuries, they became corrupted and began to wage war against their neighboring countries. It was after this that the gods sent violent earthquakes and floods, which sank Atlantis into the ocean. The rest is silence.
Way down below the ocean where I want to be
Is Atlantis a metaphor for an ideal state? Or is it a glimpse into lost history?
It remains a mystery of the vast oceans, something only Poseidon knows. But that mystery is what makes the lost city of Atlantis so delicious. An image of a perfect world, gleams and glimmers across time from somewhere beyond the sea.

Let this Full Moon in Pisces remind you that dreams and myths undulate with themes of healing and rebirth, always circling back to realizing divine wholeness. Whether based upon history or pure imagination, the dream of Atlantis acts as a portal to explore the mythopoeic depths where you can connect to divine harmony.
The overarching message of Pisces is that through myths and dreams, you become inter-dimensional, realizing the relationship between the inner and outer worlds. When the waters of dreams and waking life merge, your soul and the world-soul become one.
