Dawn Goes Down to Day ~ September 24th-30th, 2018

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leafs a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay

by Robert Frost

The Sun has now shifted into the cardinal air sign of Libra, summoning the breezes of social refinement and intellectual beauty.

Though the sign of Libra is marked by many Venusian blessings, in the first days of autumn there is a natural mourning for the loss of summer, for the loss of Persephone’s light.

In the northern hemisphere, the Sun has now begun to fall, summoning the rise of darkness.

In the fading warmth of these amber evenings, the mysteries of Eleusis speak. Throughout the ages, it is certain that the muse has called many poets to sing the same sad song…

…Nothing gold can stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay, by Robert Frost is a shimmering star of eternal truth, a vision through time that sees the bloom and wither upon every leaf. The poet perfectly captures the transitory quality of autumn, reminding you that in life’s cycle of eternal return, paradise will be lost.

In autumn, your awareness splits into two planes. In the foreground is the gold and crimson harvest. And in the background curls the brown edges of degeneration. Beauty and innocence crackle into dust. We are born to die.

This week contains a concentrated dose of the darker hues of autumnal wisdom. Striking like a heavy bass note, Monday’s Full Moon in Aries arrives with some very tense aspects to Saturn and Chiron.

Monday/Tuesday ~ Choke Chain – Full Moon in Aries

Full Moons represent the culmination of a cycle of emotional and creative energies. Having just left Virgo season, this Full Moon will remind you that “you reap what you sow”. There will certainly be rewards for your hard work and dedication.

But with Chiron and Saturn’s influence your strength and integrity will be greatly tested. The hissing voice of self-hatred will lurk in the background, looking for an angry fix.

A Full Moon in the fire sign of Aries is usually associated with a streak of independence or rebelliousness. Arian energies tend to bring an exhilarating rush of blood to the head, enough to push through many obstacles. But it may feel like you have a leash around your neck.

The Moon’s square to Saturn in Capricorn will restrain your outbursts of liberation. Under a Saturn square, you will find obstacles to your independence and roadblocks to your sense of freedom. With Saturn glowering overhead, any acts of selfishness or indiscretion may create serious consequences.

Whereas Saturn creates gravitational discomfort, the Moon conjunct Chiron will dig deep into layers of repressed pain. Any old wounds surrounding the issues of assertiveness, independence, or leadership are likely to come up at this time. You may feel victimized, controlled, or exploited.

You may be reminded of times when you felt trapped by circumstance. But this pain is a calling for you to grow and evolve.

Yes, this is challenging energy, but you are meant to become deeply enriched by the experience. Both Saturn and Chiron offer the rewards of maturity and mastery. What begins as pain and insecurity evolves into great strength. The shared message from Saturn and Chiron is that life is an aging process. Like wood or wine, new levels of richness and beauty emerge with experience.

Wednesday/Thursday ~ Joy Ride

By the middle of the week, the inertia of Saturn will break! The Sun will trine Mars in Aquarius offering a great force of momentum. This is a very good time to express more energy, more passion, and more confidence. The wind is at your back, so do what you can to steer yourself in a positive direction today!

Friday/Saturday/Sunday ~ Truth-Teller

On Sunday, Pluto in Capricorn will finally end its five month retrograde period. Considering that Pluto is in Capricorn, you may feel an extra emphasis upon an imbalance of power in your life. After the Full Moon this week, you will surely have developed deeper insights regarding this matter.

Consider where you have felt disconnected from a sense of rightful authority. Where have you been following blindly rather than heeding your calling to adhere to deeper truth?

When Pluto turns direct there is new motivation to connect to your authentic motivations in life. A sense of higher purpose will paint itself over the chaos of your inner world. And whether it is uncomfortable or not, truth will begin to roll off your tongue.

Pretensions, secrets and lies will be shaken out of the trees. No matter what is revealed, at least you’ll know where you stand.

Next week, Venus in Scorpio will begin her retrograde adventures. Venus in Scorpio summons an experience of psychological nakedness. She sees the tangled web you weave…and strips you of your conceit and pretensions. During the upcoming retrograde, you will be asked to face the truth of who you are.

The only choice is to start getting off on the liberation that painful truths offer. Stay tuned.
