22 Nov The Holy Spirit ~ Sagittarius Season – November 22nd-December 21st, 2019
After the long journey through the underworld tunnels of Scorpio, the Sun has finally pierced the veil and entered into the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius. The funeral march becomes a soaring symphony, evoking the spirit’s eternal flame!
If Scorpio offers an illumination of death, then Sagittarius season offers an illumination of the afterlife.
When the Sun crosses the threshold into Sagittarius, the crushing fear of death is conquered. The spirit has survived the underworld and now leaps upward into the open sky.
The knowledge of the coming of the Sun’s resurrection stirs the heart. So even as the sky grows darker, the mood becomes brighter. Everything feels lit up by the holy spirit in the season leading up to the solstice. And this radiant glow inspires many hearts towards benevolence and generosity.
It is in the fires of Sagittarius where the mind and the heart merge together to create faith. Propelled by wanderlust and holiness: foolish, manic, and wise, the centaur seeks out the extraordinary! The Sagittarian spirit ignites the quest for knowledge and pushes human consciousness to continuously expand.
The father of the Renaissance, Marsilio Ficino, said that the human soul was the force that held the Intellect and the Body together, binding them in painful and glorious evolution.
This is a lovely meditation on the Soul, as well as a beautiful description of the symbol of Sagittarius itself.
Sagittarius is depicted as the centaur, with his arrow pointed at the stars. This image tells the story of humanity’s spiritual evolution.
Embodied in the strength of the horses galloping legs, the human spirit finds unity with the forces of nature. Embodied in the human head, the human spirit seeks refinement through the higher mind of reasoning. Beyond reason, the human spirit seeks expansion into eternity, inspiring the centaur to shoot its arrow up into the vast cosmos to reach out to whatever lies above and beyond.
The spirit of Sagittarius is infectious! A prime example of this brightness of spirit is the great Romantic poet, William Blake.
“Every honest man is a Prophet.”
– William Blake
Everyone is afraid to be honest sometimes. And that’s why it is so important to have role models that inspire the best in you. As a consummate Sagittarius, William Blake is an ideal role model for spiritual honesty, theological innovation, and political insurrection.
He was a poet that raged against the machine of industrialism, science and the church. In his writings, he attacked all figureheads of authoritarianism, including King George, John Locke, and Isaac Newton.
In the late 18th Century, Newtonian science described the Sun as a burning stone floating millions of miles away in empty space. But Blake defied that view, saying:
“Nonsense! I know what the Sun is! It’s a choir of angels singing,
‘Glory! Glory! Glory to the Lord God! Hallelujah!”
The spirit of Sagittarius knows that just as the universe is expanding, so too must you. In your life, expansion requires the continuous evolution of your beliefs and assumptions. And one of Blake’s lifelong missions was to free the human soul from the cult of Reason and live by true faith.
Blake published his original poems, philosophies and theologies as illuminated manuscripts, which are still effective in captivating the modern reader’s cinematic imagination.
As all men are alike (tho’ infinitely various), So all Religions & as all similars have one source. The true Man is the source, he being the Poetic Genius.
One of his most important works is a pamphlet called, All Religions Are One, a perfect example of the Sagittarian spirit written as a series of seven philosophical statements. In this work, Blake unifies his artistic, philosophical and religious views, offering the reader a look at the world through his visionary lens.
Blake believed salvation could be found in a unifying religious experience shared by all humanity.
That the Poetic Genius is the true Man, and that the body or outward form of Man is derived from the Poetic Genius. Likewise that the forms of all things are derived from their Genius, which by the Ancients was call’d an Angel & Spirit & Demon.
Blake defined the Poetic Genius as being the source of all prophesy, art and imagination.
This season is the time to connect to a higher vision of who you are and what your potential is. Supported by divine inspiration (Poetic Genius) you will be asked to contend with some heavy philosophical and religious questions that force a confrontation with authoritarianism.
But by the light of the Sun in Sagittarius, you may open your eyes to a bigger picture, where the constricting beliefs that have starved your spirit can finally be obliterated. Enjoy the birth of this patient process of philosophical growth!
Over the coming weeks, a lot will transform in the heavens. The astrological conditions will become increasingly tense. And yet it is just these kind of pressures that stimulate evolution!
Allow a bigger picture to unfold, one that sees beyond the world’s definition of reality. Let yourself remain open to immensity, experiencing the genuine bliss and sublimity of confronting the vastness of the universe.
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour

Friday November 22, 2019: Sun enters Sagittarius
The Sun enters Sagittarius, lit up by the holy spirit. The mood shifts from brooding and withholding towards exploring and giving!
Saturday November 23, 2019: Mars opposes Uranus
Just as Jupiter is in his place of rulership in Sagittarius, Mars is also in his place of rulership in Scorpio.
On Saturday, Mars will oppose Uranus in Taurus, creating conditions that are hot and electric. Iron will melt and wires will burn out. There is a lot of potential to break out of past conditioning or bad habits at this time. But you might experience this influence as very challenging for your nerves, increasing the potential for impulsive reactions and outbursts. Many people will respond with unusual tempers. Remedy this by soothing your nerves as much as possible and avoid taking unnecessary risks. This is not a day to be reckless. Be cool.
Sunday November 24, 2019: Venus conjunct Jupiter
Amidst the lightning storm Mars and Uranus, on Sunday Venus and Jupiter will conjoin in Sagittarius, summoning a warm rain of positive energy. These two planets come together like fragrant flowers in a bouquet, blending softly and adding to each other’s beauty. From the union of Venus and Jupiter, the true spirit of generosity is born.
The Uranian currents will still be electrifying the air, so you will discover the sweetness of this influence in some miraculous and unexpected ways. You may be suddenly moved to open your arms to another. Or you may be the one who is suddenly embraced.
Whatever happens, this is the climax and celebration of Jupiter’s long journey through his sign of rulership! Hail Jove! Let whatever joy you have become a fountain that blesses the lives of others.
Monday November 25th, 2019: Venus moves into Capricorn
The day after the great celebration in Sagittarius, Venus moves into Capricorn, where her softness is hardened into the element of earth.
In Capricorn, Venus stops opening her heart to all the brightest visions and visionaries. Her heart becomes contained by the gravity of earth, weighed down by the laws of Saturn. This shifts her priorities and her sense of attraction towards people and ideas that are skillful and ambitious enough to build something that lasts, something that represents a legacy. While Venus is in Capricorn, you will be invited to explore the dynamic of control and release, desire and restraint. This makes love and luxury feel like serious business. But there’s a deep resonant pleasure in this because when your love-life and your finances become supported by integrity, you become enveloped by the bliss of earthly power.
Tuesday November 26, 2019: New Moon in Sagittarius
A long endured confrontation with delusion and ignorance is the only path to wisdom, but thankfully Sagittarius has a real penchant for this kind of work. At this New Moon, expect a great renewal of your faith which comes only after you willingly sacrifice some rigid beliefs that impede your growth.
This is much easier said than done, but at this New Moon you will more readily envision the coming of a golden dawn!
With the detritus of Scorpio season now cleared away, the grandiose visions of Sagittarius often usher in a jubilant feeling of hope. (even for the hopeless) These sensations are often identified as the holiday spirit, that flickering flame of warmth, generosity, and love
For many, the holiday spirit brings about an existential crisis. If this describes you, know that this New Moon might be a particularly powerful moment to renew your faith and rediscover a light that will carry you forward.
Because Sagittarius seeks wisdom, the darkest of these revelations may concern where you have clung to beliefs out of fear rather than true faith.
Wednesday November 27th, 2019: Neptune Direct
When Neptune moves direct again, your capacity for dreaming things into reality is once again illuminated. While Neptune is retrograde, there is a stripping away of one’s delusions and a withering of one’s dreams. Whatever has survived this period is worthy of being brought up on shore to become a part of your reality. Thus, as Neptune returns to direct motion, your most treasured dreams will start to be carried forward by the soothing tides.
Thursday November 28, 2019: Mercury Trines Neptune and Venus trines Uranus
If you have something that you need to pray for, then this transit of Mercury in Scorpio trine Neptune is your time. You will be hyper-aware of the spiritual help that you need whilst feeling very close to divinity. Let yourself go within and ask for help, for healing, for guidance in any way that you need to.
Even if you don’t pray, you may still receive divine help and guidance through synchronicities or dreams. Let your awareness be fluid and receptive to the benevolence in the universe.
On this same day, Venus in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus, opening up a doorway for surprising blessings to arrive.
The week ends with Mercury sextile to Saturn in Capricorn, summoning an atmosphere of stability and well-laid plans. You’ll feel like you’re on a good path and that you have what it takes to get where you want to go.
II. December 2nd- December 11th
The second part of Sagittarius season brings a stark shift in mood as Jupiter transits into Capricorn where he will remain until December 2020.
The Sun in Sagittarius will sparkle with spirit and faith, responding to Saturn’s shadow of authority with a flame of optimism. But in order to cut through obstacles and remain sure of foot, you will need to draw from the ferocious power of Mars in Scorpio.
Mars in Scorpio doesn’t lighten the mood very much, but there is a passion for making progress and fighting negation.Monday December 2, 2019: Jupiter enters Capricorn
This begins a new era, where a new quality of life will begin to evolve into something more cautious and austere. In traditional astrology, Jupiter is in his place of fall or depression in the sign of Capricorn. In this Saturn-ruled sign, Jupiter’s nature as the principle of joy-giving knowledge remains alive in Capricorn, but the quality of growth and expansion becomes slowed down and restricted.
Not to be put down or destroyed, Jupiter in Capricorn will teach you the importance of humility and simplicity. Perhaps you will miss the splashy excesses of Jupiter’s time in Sagittarius. But this is a powerful transit for building something that has a solid foundation.
It may not feel as fun, but when Jupiter is in Saturn’s sign of Capricorn, he develops unparalleled strength to push against adversity and triumph. The Sagittarius, Beethoven also had Jupiter in Capricorn. Not only was he a genius, but he also had enough fighting spirit to compose the 9th Symphony after he had gone completely deaf.
And there is Walt Disney, who was raised poor by a dogmatically religious and cruel father who forced him to do back breaking work. Despite having no financial advantage, and no support for his art, he built a studio that has one of the most enduring legacies of all time.
While Jupiter is in Capricorn, you will find new strength to push through obstacles and triumph over adversity.
Monday December 9, 2019: Mercury enters Sagittarius
When Mercury enters Sagittarius, your mind will brighten and begin to delight in the new energies. Yes, there is a lot of gravity and concern. But there is also an invitation to demonstrate true wealth and wisdom, which is an unshakeable faith in the process of evolution.
Wednesday December 11, 2019: Full Moon in Gemini
Full Moons are moments of ripeness for emotional and creative energies, it’s best not to let this time be lost to ambivalence
As 2019 draws to a close, this Full Moon in Gemini will be accompanied by a conjunction between Venus and Saturn in Capricorn. Their gravity will bring the fluttering wings of Gemini down to earth.
Venus and Saturn in Capricorn will ask you to take a serious look at the integrity of your mind. With the dual nature of Gemini as a lens, you will be forced to confront the dark heart of the Information Age, where the mind is worshipped as god.
This god’s voracious appetite for air-popped info dishonors genuine feeling, historical value, and common decency. And no matter how many vulnerable stories, religious awakenings, and confessions are swallowed whole, this god’s hunger continues t0 demand more.
Thus, this Full Moon will be a time for reflection upon your own ceaseless hunger for information. What feeling for life do you sacrifice in pursuit of the buzz of overstimulation?
But for those seeking their own inner light, this Full Moon in Gemini will help you to protect your mind from invasion, retreating into private thoughts that bloom with tender memories and beloved histories. These are inner treasures that do not have to be offered up for analysis or used as fodder for likes and shares.
The final lesson of this Full Moon in Gemini is to remember that knowledge represents an initiation into wisdom, but acquiring more knowledge does not necessarily result in becoming wise. What guides you to find your path to wisdom is ineffable, totally incomprehensible to the mind alone.
Whenever the soul reveals itself, it is known as if it has always been known.
III. December 12th-December 21st
The final lap of the Sun’s transit through Sagittarius is heavy with practical concerns and heavy considerations.
The conservative and practical concerns of Capricorn are dominating the heavens, but the beauty of Sagittarius is that it remains aligned with the divine spark feels great anticipation for the solstice!
By now, you will have become accustomed to Jupiter’s new vibe. It may not be as beautiful and radiant as it was in Sagittarius, but after these long hard Saturn in Capricorn years, the presence of Jupiter’s generous spirit will feel like a touch of divine mercy.
You’ll feel the gravity bearing down hard, as if carbon is being pressed into a diamond!
Friday December 13: Venus conjunct Pluto
Venus in Capricorn will conjoin Pluto. You may feel somewhat relieved by the release from Venus’ recent conjunction with Saturn. But the intensity of her conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn will still demand that you to remain responsible.
Venus conjunct to Pluto increases the volume of your deepest desires. No longer subconscious or sublimated, you will feel long lost pieces of your soul rise up to be nurtured and satisfied.
This conjunction will summon the power to attract new support and resources to improve your romantic relationships and finances.
Sunday, December 15: Jupiter in Capricorn trine Uranus in Aries
This is an auspicious and rare aspect that will make you fall in love with what the earth element can really offer. Expect a stroke of luck, an opportunity for adventure, a magnificent experience of praise, appreciation, or growth!
Friday December 20, 2019: Mercury in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces
Your mind will be more susceptible to influence at this time, increasing your psychic sensitivity while also making you feel vulnerable to negative thoughts. You may feel disillusioned or disoriented. But this mist of confusion will burn off quickly. If you can spend most of the day lost in fantasy and creative work, then you’ll be quite fulfilled. But the wide world may seem like an extra frightening place.
Friday December 20, 2019: Venus enters Aquarius
Venus leaves behind Capricorn for the air sign of Aquarius. The worldly concerns that restrained her so much during her transit through Capricorn will lose some of their heaviness.
In Aquarius, Venus seeks to appease her appetites for beauty upon the edges of reality, sifting through the outpourings of discarded madness in search of the light of genius. Venus in Aquarius recognizes the spark of the divine in what has become outcast, unorthodox and strange.
While Venus transits Aquarius, you will be able to love the outcast parts of yourself, realizing how much radiance and genius you have foolishly thrown away or exiled.
December 21st brings the Sun’s time in Sagittarius to an end with the solstice! This is the moment that marks the return of the Sun’s ascension, the holy-day of resurrection and light that the spirit of Sagittarius has been waiting for!
As William Blake said, “All Religions are One”, especially when it comes to celebrating the solstice!
